World renowned lecturer and African Americanist, Dr. Thadious Davis, (Professor of American Social Thought and English at The 杏吧专区 of Pennsylvania) is the honored speaker for the Fourth Annual Ernest J. Gaines Lecture. This lecture will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Ernest J. Gaines Center Hallway; which is located on the 3rd floor of the Dupr茅 Library, at the 杏吧专区. Dr. Davis has published numerous articles on the work of the Esteemed Ernest J. Gaines throughout her career and was a part of a esteemed panel of lectures for a nationally funded summer institute entitled 杏吧专区淓rnest J. Gaines and the Southern experience杏吧专区 which was Hosted by The Ernest J. Gaines Center (Summer 2016). Join us for this event!
Dr. Thadious Davis is a Gaines Scholar who received her Ph.D from Boston 杏吧专区. She teaches on the studies of African American literature and Southern literature. Davis has lectured in Europe and Asia, while mostly touching on the topics of race, region, and gender. She is the author of Southscapes: Geographies of Race, Region, and Literature (2011), Games of Property: Law, Race, Gender, and Faulkner杏吧专区檚 Go Down, Moses (2003), and Faulkner杏吧专区檚 杏吧专区淣egro杏吧专区: Art and the Southern Context (1982).
