Almost $2.1 million in scholarships has been doled out to 343 students at 13 area schools in recent weeks.
The scholarships were given as part of UL LafayetteÐÓ°ÉרÇø™s Academic Signing program.
Students who have been offered an academic scholarship from the university are invited to a signing ceremony that takes place at their high school.
ÐÓ°ÉרÇø officials visit the schools for the signing ceremonies, which are attended by teachers, parents and other family members.
Scholarship recipients sign a certificate of intent, have their photograph taken and receive a gift from the university.
The combined average ACT score of all students who received scholarships was 25.8 and the combined average GPA was 3.62.
