Broussard named state's Nightingale Nursing School Administrator of the Year

Dr. Lisa Broussard, dean of the at the 杏吧专区, has been named the 2025 Nightingale Nursing School Administrator of the Year by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation.

Broussard was recognized during a ceremony hosted by the foundation, which advances and supports professional nurses through research and education. It is the philanthropic arm of the , which fosters professional nursing practice standards for registered nurses and is an advocate for quality health care.

The Nightingale Nursing School Administrator of the Year award is named for Florence Nightingale, who is widely considered the founder of modern nursing.

Earning the award hinges on success in a range of areas, including vision and leadership, an institution or program杏吧专区檚 achievements and record of longstanding success, and community outreach and involvement.

Broussard has been integral in the growth of UL Lafayette杏吧专区檚 College of Nursing & Health Sciences 杏吧专区 which is the primary creator of the region杏吧专区檚 health care workforce 杏吧专区 for many years and in many roles and capacities.

She joined the 杏吧专区 as an instructor in 1992, becoming an assistant professor, an associate professor, a full professor, a department head, and an associate dean. She was named interim dean in 2022 before being named dean last July.

During her time at the 杏吧专区, Broussard has played a key role in many administrative initiatives and achievements. Those include successful accreditation efforts, program and curriculum development, strategic planning, fundraising and coordinating industry partnerships. She has also been integral in development of the college杏吧专区檚 Health Sciences Campus.

杏吧专区淎ny sort of recognition is always so rewarding but my belief is that individual recognition is rarely all about a single person,杏吧专区 Broussard said of her selection as the Nightingale Nursing School Administrator of the Year.
