The Student Government Association at the 杏吧专区 will hold a candlelight vigil to honor victims of the recent shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
The vigil will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, in the UL Lafayette Student Union courtyard. The public is invited.
On Feb. 14, a former student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School killed 17 people when he opened fire at the school in southern Florida.
杏吧专区淚n addition to honoring victims of the shooting, we want to acknowledge that students, teachers and staff members at schools 杏吧专区 including at colleges and universities 杏吧专区 deserve to feel safe and they should feel safe,杏吧专区 said Margarita Perez, dean of students at UL Lafayette.
A limited number of candles will be available. Attendees are urged to bring candles or download virtual candles on smart phones.
