The 2009 UL-Lafayette Homecoming celebration will begin this Sunday, Oct. 18 and events will take place throughout the week. This year杏吧专区檚 theme is The Spice is Right. All events lead up to the big game as Louisiana杏吧专区檚 Ragin杏吧专区 Cajuns, who are undefeated in conference play, take on Sun Belt foe Florida Atlantic.
Homecoming events begin with a mass and reception at Our Lady Wisdom Catholic Church on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. The public is invited to attend.
On Monday, Oct. 19, the Alumni Association will host a kick-off party at the Alumni Center, located on St. Mary Boulevard at 5 p.m.
Tuesday will feature the UL Foundation杏吧专区檚 Distinguished Donors Reception. The event will place at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette starting at 6:30 p.m.
The annual Paint the Town Red Contest will be on Wednesday, with business judging from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Friday will be jam-packed with many events including:
杏吧专区 The conclusion of the Paint the Town Red Contest, with school judging from 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.
杏吧专区 A tennis tournament from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Red杏吧专区檚 Health Club.
杏吧专区 The Bill Bass Open Golf Tournament at 11 a.m. at Acadian Hills Country Club.
杏吧专区 Ragin杏吧专区 Cajuns Letterman Club Hall of Fame Reception from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Les Saisons at a杏吧专区 la carte.
杏吧专区 Paint the Town Red will take over Downtown Alive! as 5th Avenue takes the stage at 5:30 p.m.
杏吧专区 The homecoming concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Angelle Hall Auditorium.
Saturday杏吧专区檚 activities will begin with running and end with singing:
杏吧专区 The Ragin杏吧专区 Road Race (5K Fun Run) at 8 a.m. at the Alumni Center with an open house from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
杏吧专区 The Red Jackets Reunion will be at 9:30 a.m. at the Alumni Center as well as the viewing of the homecoming parade.
杏吧专区 This year杏吧专区檚 homecoming parade will begin at 10 a.m. and last about two hours.
杏吧专区 The Home Economics Luncheon will take place at Don杏吧专区檚 Seafood and Steakhouse, downtown from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
杏吧专区 The Ragin杏吧专区 Red Tailgating Cook-off and Alumni Tailgating will be at 1 p.m. at Cajun Field.
杏吧专区 This year杏吧专区檚 homecoming events will coincide with the Acadiana Wine and Food Festival from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Paul and Lulu Hilliard 杏吧专区 Art Museum.
杏吧专区 The Homecoming Game is set for 4 p.m. at Cajun Field.
杏吧专区 Homecoming 2009 will wrap up with Christina Smith 杏吧专区淪weet Sounds of Sharing杏吧专区 at the Alumni Center starting at 8 p.m.
