A former faculty member from the College of Nursing and Allied Health Professions is continuing to help students at the 杏吧专区. Dolores C. Bess and her husband William 杏吧专区淏ill杏吧专区 E. Bess recently added $100,000 to a scholarship the couple created in 1994.
Since then, the Bess杏吧专区 have invested more than $167,000 杏吧专区 including their most recent donation 杏吧专区 into The Dolores Bess Endowed Scholarship in Nursing. The first scholarship from the Bess杏吧专区 donations was awarded in 1995.
Mrs. Bess taught at UL Lafayette for 25 years. She received her bachelor杏吧专区檚 degree in nursing from Vanderbilt 杏吧专区, her master杏吧专区檚 of public health from Tulane 杏吧专区 and her master杏吧专区檚 in nursing from Louisiana State 杏吧专区.
Mr. Bess attended the 杏吧专区 of West Virginia and graduated from the 杏吧专区 of Alabama. He is a retired independent engineer in the oil and gas industry. The couple will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
