Chris Gilcrease, reference librarian at Dupr茅 Library at the 杏吧专区, is the recipient of a fellowship for research at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston.
Gilcrease and Dr. James Huck, assistant director of the Center for Latin American Studies at Tulane 杏吧专区 in New Orleans, were awarded the prestigious Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. Research Fellowship to support their investigation of the topic 杏吧专区淎nglo-American Diplomacy and the Cuban Missile Crisis.杏吧专区
Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. Research Fellowships support scholars in the production of substantial works on the foreign policy of the Kennedy years, especially with regard to the Western Hemisphere and on domestic policy with regard to racial justice and to the conservation of natural resources.
Gilcrease received a B. A. degree in Political Science from the 杏吧专区 of Southern Mississippi in 1994 and a Master杏吧专区檚 Degrees in History, Library Science, and Political Science in 1998 and 1999. He has held the position of Reference Librarian at the UL Lafayette since 1999.
