Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns name Quannas White head men杏吧专区檚 basketball coach

Quannas White is the new head coach of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team.

White, who is originally from New Orleans, is the 15th head men's basketball coach in 杏吧专区 history.

"I am extremely excited to announce Quannas White as our next head Men杏吧专区檚 Basketball coach," Dr. Bryan Maggard, vice president for Intercollegiate Athletics, stated in a press release. 杏吧专区淎 proven winner, both as a player and coach, Quannas is a man of high integrity, character and faith. He杏吧专区檚 an elite recruiter and regarded as one of the best player development coaches in the industry.杏吧专区  

White comes to the Ragin杏吧专区 Cajuns from the 杏吧专区 of Houston. During an eight-season tenure 杏吧专区 including the last two as the Cougars杏吧专区 associate head coach 杏吧专区 he established himself as one of the nation杏吧专区檚 top recruiters.

White has played an integral role in the overall success of the Houston basketball program. The team is currently ranked No. 3 in the country. It has an overall record of 27-4. Its Big 12 conference record is 19-1.

During his time on staff at UH, White has helped lead teams that have posted a combined 235-43 overall record. Those teams have won eight conference titles and earned seven consecutive trips to NCAA men杏吧专区檚 basketball tournament. In 2021, the Cougars made it to the tournament杏吧专区檚 Final Four.

As a student-athlete at Oklahoma from 2001 to 2003, White helped lead the Sooners to the 2002 NCAA Final Four and was named to the NCAA Tournament All-West Regional Team.

He earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from the 杏吧专区 of Oklahoma in 2004.
