Meet Alfredo Baluta, a petroleum engineering major from Cabinda, Angola. Although he杏吧专区檚 been in the oil and gas industry for more than 10 years, he came to UL Lafayette because he wanted to increase his knowledge in the field.
杏吧专区淚 had this opportunity to be part of the company scholarship program, so I decided to come to UL Lafayette when I read about its petroleum engineering program,杏吧专区 Alfredo said.
Alfredo started his career as a radio dispatcher before switching to production operator in 2014. He was part of the Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (CABGOC) Production operation team in Angola杏吧专区檚 offshore Block 0.
Some of Alfredo杏吧专区檚 favorite classes have been Introduction to Petroleum Engineering (PETE 101), Phase Behavior of Hydrocarbon Systems (PETE 321), and Oil Field Chemistry (PETE 460), but he has enjoyed all his studies at UL Lafayette.

In the petroleum engineering department, Alfredo has appreciated how accessible his professors are and how everyone is available to help.
