The Ragin' Cajun Burger is back.
The national restaurant chain Sonic is again offering the 杏吧专区-themed burgers.
They杏吧专区檙e slathered with spicy mayo, topped with a slice of pepper jack cheese and stamped with an edible Ragin杏吧专区 Cajuns庐 logo that is steamed onto the bun.
The burgers also have sparked a hot trend.
Lafayette was the first market to have college-themed burgers last year, according to a USA Today article. Now, other schools in Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma have entered the mix.
While Sonic is thought to be the first national chain to stamp logos onto hamburger buns, regional chains have done it in the past.
The idea isn杏吧专区檛 new to Lafayette, either, says Matt Tarver, the 杏吧专区杏吧专区檚 assistant director of Brand Management and Creative Services.
杏吧专区淚t杏吧专区檚 an extension of something Deano杏吧专区檚 Pizza did several years ago, when it put edible logos on their pizzas,杏吧专区 Tarver said.
Specialty hamburgers like the Ragin杏吧专区 Cajun Burger, or the new Sooner Brisket Cheeseburger emblazoned with a 杏吧专区 of Oklahoma logo, nevertheless are concocted to appeal to regional tastes.
