The UL Lafayette Ӱר Ochsner Accelerated BSN ProgramӰרs first cohort has achieved a 100% first-time passage rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.
A total of 16 accelerated BSN nursing graduates passed the rigorous national licensure exam as first-time test takers.
UL LafayetteӰרs accelerated BSN program was launched in 2023. It is directed by the and its LHC Group Ӱר Myers School of Nursing. The program enables students who hold a bachelorӰרs degree in any field to earn a bachelorӰרs degree in nursing in less time.
ӰרThe accelerated BSN program represents a strategic partnership between the Ӱר and Ochsner Lafayette General that was created to address a need for registered nurses in the region,Ӱר said Dr. Lisa Broussard, dean of the College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
She added: ӰרThe success of the accelerated programӰרs first cohort reaffirms the ӰרӰרs commitment to continually growing and evolving as the primary contributor to the regionӰרs health care workforce.Ӱר
Perfect Ӱר or nearly perfect Ӱר NCLEX pass rates among the collegeӰרs nursing graduates has been the norm for decades. This year is no exception. The ӰרӰרs overall NCLEX-RN passage rate of 97.1% for its 2025 graduates of its traditional and accelerated nursing programs exceeds the state average of 89.46% and the national average of 87.35%.
ӰרOur nursing program is rigorous, but that Ӱר along with the quality of our students Ӱר is why our graduates do so well on their licensure exams. And itӰרs why we send so many highly skilled nurses into the workforce,Ӱר Broussard said.
