What do you enjoy most about your role?
Mel: What I enjoy most about my role as is being able to guide students through one of the most important decisions of their lives. I find it incredibly rewarding to help prospective students gain confidence, overcome obstacles, and take that first step toward achieving their academic and career goals. I also enjoy the personal connections I build through each conversation, as well as the satisfaction of seeing a student杏吧专区檚 journey come full circle from inquiry to enrollment. The role keeps me engaged and motivated because it combines relationship-building, problem-solving, and goal-oriented work in a way that truly makes a difference.
What advice would you give to a student in their first semester of an online program?
Mel: Stay organized with a set schedule, communicate regularly with your instructors and classmates, and make use of all available resources. Set small goals, celebrate your progress, and don杏吧专区檛 hesitate to ask for help if you need it. Adjusting takes time 杏吧专区 be patient with yourself and stay focused on why you started.
What is the most common question you get from online students?
Mel: "Can I work full time and still be successful in online courses?"
Usually, I'd respond by saying, "I totally understand how you feel 杏吧专区 balancing online classes with a full-time job can seem tough at first! The good news is that our online programs are designed for working adults. You杏吧专区檒l have flexibility to complete coursework on your own schedule. I recommend setting a weekly routine, planning study times in advance, and staying in touch with your instructors. What is your favorite restaurant & thing to do in Lafayette?
Mel: My favorite restaurant in Lafayette is Acadian Superette, and I love listening to live music.
